Did you know that Henry Ford built cars that run on ethanol ?

Ethanol is a waste of taxpayer money and brilliant marketing scheme by the corn lobby. If it can be produced profitably without government support, then by all means it should continue, but it is neither clean nor cheap to produce and brings with it a whole host of other problems (like raising the cost of food and fouling boat engines).
