How much should we revere the Blessed Virgin Mary?

I honour Mary by praying the Rosary daily, but some of the prayers (salve regina) seem to be coming a bit close to godess worship. I could be way out, I know we should realy respect the Blessed Virgin and I do, but I don't pray to her. I pray to Jesus. And what about all this stuff with Mary being Queen of Heaven? Please set me straight.
