Yes, it'll work, but what's the point? Even though the motherboard is capable of supporting up to 16GB of ram, that board can only use non-hyper threaded quad core processors, meaning 4 instruction/data threads max, so even if you ran intense apps such as trans-coding, AutoCAD, PhotoShop, etc., simultaneously you would likely never use more than 5GB~8GB. If you were using a server motherboard, that would be a different story, but in real world use 6GB is usually more than enough memory for a desktop system.
