My 96 cavalier wont stay runnin or it wont idle.but when i spray fuel injecter in the motor it runs?

i have a 96 cavalier its been sitting for a good 4 months and i went 2 go start it and the key wouldn't turn so i change the ignition and then i tried to start it and it ran for a sec then cut off so i tried again and then it turn on then cut of so i tried pumping it then tried to start then it did the same thing....so not it wont stay running or if i press the gas it wont idle....but i had a friend spray fuel injector in to they motor and it ran and till he stooped spraying it...what could it be?
